My mom always said that if you want to get a job done, give it to a busy person. I am beginning to think there is some truth to that statement. At almost 60, I am involved with just as many projects, if not more, than when I was a young and spry 20-year-old. Don't believe me? Here you go:
- Marketing first book, Little Cabin on the Trail
- About to publish second book (children's)
- About to launch first online writing course
- Working a Young Living oil business
- Juggling four other part-time jobs
And now I am adding another biggie:
- Renovating our retirement home
And yet another:
- Preparing to sell the Boxmoor
I know. It's too much, right? Something will probably have to give at some point, but for now, I am going to concentrate on taking just one step at a time.
I always believed I had one more house in my future. I had no idea it was going to start out so ugly and smelling of cat pee. If you want to follow along with this huge renovation project, you can subscribe to the blog in the sidebar. I promise you that this is going to be an amazing transformation, and we are going to have some stories to tell.
Here are a few before pictures to prove to you our level of craziness. Did I ever tell you that my husband and son are contractors? That is only making me feel a little better.
Question: Should I keep the shower system?
Yes, those floors will be totally ripped out and that fireplace will be refaced. Big changes, lots of work, but I keep telling myself that this is not our first rodeo.
And here is a sneak peek at demo day--just hours after closing. My husband has always been a Chip Gaines. He loves this stuff so much that he did not wait for his crew.
